This Upcoming Co-Op Dark Fantasy RPG is like Arc Raiders and Elden Ring

This upcoming dark fantasy action RPG basically gives Dark Souls with a hint of Arc Raiders. With fast-paced Soulslike third person combat, co-op RPG progression, PvPvE experiences, and extraction or death being your only end goal, this game has the potential to be one of the most exciting co-op games coming out in 2026!

This game not only has a campaign you can play with a friend, but there’s after story content you can immerse yourselves into! With a demo already out and ready to play preceding its full release on July 29th, there’s plenty that the game gives you on first playthrough.

If you ever played Arc Raiders, it’s exactly like it except set in a fantastical setting and with much more in depth combat than just shooting guns. It’s like co-op dungeon crawling in Elden Ring, except there’s a Fortnite circle closing in around you, there’s a lot more looting and extraction is necessary (especially if you want to keep your spoils), but blocked behind a wall that is known as the Returner Woodling. To return home, you must defeat him, but be sure to watch your back for other players who may not be friendly!

The game is set after a catastrophic war between the Gods and the Outer Outer Gods. With the fall of the divine came spilled blood that gave rise to the Gyldenmist that have wreaked havoc and chaos across the land.

You and your co-op friends will play as fallen heroes, resurrected by what remains of the divine and you will enter into Gyldenmist ruins, fight, loot and then successfully escape with what you have found. Choose your player class, create your own fighting style, combo with your buddies, and switch between weapons mid battle to adapt to the enemies around you!

As far as the gameplay feels, Mistfall Hunters does very well at maintaining the tension every step of the way. It visually creates a sense of haunting with its grimdark elements and ancient fortresses clothed in darkness. Your expedition is dangerous, but not without its rewards. While around every corner of a ruined kingdom is a hostile creature, you never know what loot they may drop if you take it down.

Then comes the question of how early you extract. Do you try to loot more and risk losing it all, or do you hope for the best because you know there’s more rewards to be found? Even the fear of possibly running into a hostile fellow hunter keeps you on edge, especially when they could mean the difference between a successful dungeon crawl or a failed expedition.

If Arc Raiders or any Dark Souls game has ever been your cup of tea, this upcoming co-op action RPG extraction game might be next up on your wishlist. Games like Escape from Tarkov, Marathon, and Dark and Darker have similar vibes of this game.
