So if you’re like us and are constantly on the hunt for new co-op games, you know there are a lot of fun co-op games upcoming in 2026 and 2027. We have persoanlly wishlisted a whole bunch that we’re looking forward to coming out, but not all of them are soon.
But we do have a list of upcoming co-op games that will be dropped SOON (as early as by the time you read this!). So check out this list of steam co-op games that you NEED to try in 2026!
An Eggstremely Hard Game
The demo for this game was a great introduction to the rage inducing nature this game can conjure up. The idea is for you and your partner to get your egg from point A to point B unscathed. Every bump, knock, or fumble damages your egg and if it gets too red it breaks and you’ll have to start over.
It’s been a while since we’ve played this sort of game so it’s always a fun game of reorganizing our teamwork to meet each other halfway. This is a game I’d highly suggest spending a bit of time on if not just for the laughs and frustration that ensue.
With the demo out now and an awesome scoreboard system up to keep track of your best times.
Burglin Gnomes
With a demo already released, burglin Gnomes has already won over many hearts and if you haven’t heard of it, we got you! The name says it all, you and your friends play as Gnomes who are quite literally burglars. You’ll be breaking into human’s homes with only the intention of stealing items that you can repurpose for yourself while completing tasks for the high Gnome.
Start at the very bottom and gather enough resources to craft equipment and upgrade your house, making your next missions easier than the last! It’s a game full of chaos and perfect for co-op gamers. You’re tiny and mighty, but don’t forget to not let the humans catch you or you might get flushed!
How to Fish
How to fish is a chaotic, survival, physics-based fishing simulator that is probably going to be as serious as it looks. And you’ll see what we mean when you wishlist it on steam.
While drinking and boating, you and your friends suddenly crash into a small island and the only thing to help you get your way back home is by learning how to fish (HA). With up to 4 players, you’ll be fishing, selling and killing fish. Upgrade your gear and weapons by making money, catching rare fish and gambling. There will also be boss fights in this game which allow you to get to new islands where they are even more dangerous creatures and even better gear to get!
Basically think of it like a fishing simulator that is insanely unhinged and almost roguelike, but with the bros.
Witchbrook
This is probably one of the games on this list we’re most excited for because who doesn’t love a good life sim blended with fantasy! Witchbrook is here to bring the magic to life with you and up to 3 other players moving into the lively seaside city of Mossport.
Think Harry Potter’s Hogwarts meets Stardew Valley, you’ll be studying magic and on your way to graduation whilst decorating your house, running a business, making friends and more. It gives cozy and fanfantastical all in one magical game, and we’re super excited for this life sim to come out this year!
We Are So Cooked
We are so Cooked is as dramatic and hilarious as it sounds, I promise. Ranking high on this list as far as our excitement for its release, the premise is so unhinged that it will certainly make for a fun, chaotic co-op game. With up to four friends, your goal is to hide the evidence. What evidence, you may be asking? It’s most definitely a body.
Yes, you and your friends accidentally killed a person in a hotel and now you’re trying to get rid of them without being caught. This is a physics-based stealth game with only one goal: get the body to the exit. How you and your co-op besties do that without a single person noticing or catching on though, is up to you!
Forged: Reconquest
If you like battle Sims and Overcooked have I got a game for you! In this medieval era game you and your co-op companions work as blacksmiths, arming your armies and crafting tools of war to ensure your enemies’ defeat! Cook up some gear for your soldiers, and watch them wreak havoc on their foes!
With 1-4 player co-op this gameplay brings a nice hectic energy to a yet unseen part of battle. Giving the player the ability to kit out their army mid fight adds a dynamic touch to the battles, and makes this game look very exciting.
Rayman Legends: Retold
Oh… Rayman Legends is back, baby! In a reimagined tale with quite the gorgeous look and graphics, might I add, this is definitely a wish list must for fans old and for co-op players who are looking for their next platformer.
Play with up to 4 friends in this couch co-op adventures and relive the best of Rayman Legends when this re-telling hits steam later this year!
Frog Sqwad
Have you ever wanted to be a gigantic frog? Yes you have, don’t lie to me. So have I, and we can finally live out that dream in this chaotic platformer game that should be out AS WE SPEAK.
Frog Sqwad is all about swinging, jumping and catapulting your friends into the nearest pit (or closer to yummy food, if you’re a nice friend). One of the best hobbies in real life and the main goal of this game is to EAT. Find all the food you can, blow up like a balloon and bring it to the Swamp King! A fun, cute co-op game just waiting to be played this early june!
Goblin Company
This game looks like Deep Rock Galactic with Goblins and I’m here for it! An exciting mining adventure where you and up to 3 friends can explore caves looking for treasures, fighting hostile creatures, and seeking out the legendary Giant Crystal.
With fully destructible environments this game looks to be a great time for anyone who likes Deep Rock or extraction games, I know I’ll be wanting to spend some time plundering the depths of this game!
The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu
So this game is about as daunting as it sounds, but at least you’re armed to the teeth with swords and guns, right? Just be sure your mind isn’t playing tricks on you and that monster running at you isn’t your bestie standing there wondering why you look so scared!
Play with up to 4 players co-op, playing as a group of explorers on a search for treasure! A cursed jungle with monsters lurking every corner that alter your reality sounds like the perfect place to find some gold! Be sure to say hi to cthulhu once you pick up this game and step foot on his turf on July 15th this year!
Oh, and if this game sounds pretty cool, check out this blog post about an upcoming dark fantasy RPG game that’s like Arc Raiders meets Elden Ring! You’ll probably like it, too!
