Okay… so we may be competitive gamers, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to have fun! In fact, sometimes we are actively looking for a STRICT fun-filled gaming session!
And of course, you can’t spend those gaming sessions without friends. So we have a list of some of our FAVORITE co-op games that you can play with your besties for a time that’s ONLY filled with laughter and crying… because you’re laughing so hard that you are tearing up.
Untitled Goose Game
Untitled goose game is probably one of my most favorite games of all time. My partner and I did a full playthrough of it in one sitting on stream and had the absolute time of our lives.
In this game, once you add in your player two, it becomes untitled geese game and the fun is just getting started. You and your partner play as two geese who’s only meaning in life is to mess with the lives of the humans around you. Every human (or humans, as some segments have more than 1) is considered a level in a different setting. You are given a to-do list, but every single thing on this list is going to annoy the living heck out of whichever poor unfortunate soul is nearby.
You both must work together to achieve everything on the list in order to move onto the next section. There is likely not a second that will go by where you’re not laughing wildly at this game, it’s pure joy and probably one of the cutest game ideas to ever come to fruition.
This game is available on: Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC/Steam
Moving out 1 & 2
Moving out is a game that you can play with up to 3 other friends. This game was made by the same developers who created overcooked, so if that’s a game you enjoyed, this one will be right up your alley!
Play as a F.A.R.T mover (yes, you read it right) who’s job is to help someone either move out or move into a new location in… a timely manner. That’s it. That’s the most important part. You can jump right through a window and shatter it to pieces, slap your friends and make them drop a fragile item that breaks and respawns back where it started or even play catch with someone’s TV if you want. Your cardboard box boss doesn’t even care as long as you beat the time!
Every new location or world has its quirks that either makes your job harder… or more annoying, or both. Earn extra stars that unlock more levels by completing side missions in each new location. And these side missions can range from something as simple as taking the pet turtle with you before you pack up the last item or something as hard as not shattering a single window because I promise you, it’s addicting in this game. You will want to break every single window you see. I know I do.
Oh and you occasionally fart, especially when you jump too much. Maybe it’s the nerves?
Happy moving!
Moving Out is available on: Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC/Steam and Moving Out 2 is on all of the above plus Playstation 5 and Xbox Series
Totally reliable delivery service
You and your partner are “professional” delivery workers in the loosest sense of the word. Totally Reliable Delivery Service throws you into a wacky physics-based world where the goal is simple: deliver packages. But the controls? Not so simple. You’ll flop, fly, fumble, and accidentally launch packages into the ocean more times than you’ll want to admit.
The best part? You can drive all kinds of ridiculous vehicles like helicopters, trucks, jetpacks… and crash every single one of them in style. Coordination is optional, chaos is guaranteed. This game has the same wacky, lovable craziness that Moving Out and Overcooked offer, so if you enjoyed those games, you’ll probably want to deliver some packages in the foreseeable future.
I won’t sugarcoat it, this is the kind of game where you go in thinking “we got this,” and come out questioning your entire ability to work together as a team, but that’s the best part!
Why else would you be reading this blog if you didn’t want that? 10/10 would recommend if you want to laugh, rage, and fail gloriously together.
This game is available on: Playstation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, PC/Steam
SnipperClips
Snipperclips is one of those games that looks super cute and innocent… until you and your partner realize you both have wildly different ideas of how to solve a puzzle. You play as little paper shapes who can cut pieces out of each other to transform into whatever shape the puzzle needs. Sounds wholesome, right?
It is. But…
Communication is everything here, and I mean EVERYTHING. One second you’re working together to catch a pencil, and the next your partner slices you in half “by accident” and now you’re both arguing over who’s the problem while continuously snipping each other in smaller and smaller pieces until one person literally is cut out of existence. By the way the problem is likely both of you (trust me, I’m a gamer therapist), and that’s okay.
This game is part teamwork, part betrayal, and 100% a test of patience, but in the most adorable way possible. Also the characters make the silliest and most questionable faces ever throughout this game. Just play it and you’ll know what I mean. And sorry in advance!
Happy cutting! Hopefully not of each other unless it’s consensual and in-game.
This game is available on: Nintendo Switch
Super Bunny Man
Super Bunny Man is pure, unhinged madness. You and your partner play as big, questionable adult men in stretchy bunny suits who can only jump, roll, and flail their limbs around as you try to make it to the end of each level. That’s it. That’s the whole game. And it’s glorious chaos.
You’ll launch each other off cliffs, accidentally kick each other into spikes… blood and all, and scream laughing while desperately trying to grab a ledge with your janky bunny arms. The physics are wild, the controls are clunky (on purpose, it seems), and nothing ever goes as planned—which is exactly why it’s amazing.
The only downside of this game that I want to be honest about is this: while me and my partner were playing via online co-op, we experienced some lag that threw us off on timing things (despite sitting right next to each other on the same wi-fi). If you can play local co-op, I highly recommend it but if not, you can still have some fun with this game despite the occasional lag!
It’s the kind of game that makes you question everything: gravity, friendship, and why you thought this would be “just a cute little platformer.”
This game is available on: PC/Steam and Nintendo Switch
Human Fall Flat
If you’ve ever wondered what it’d be like to control a drunk noodle person trying to solve puzzles, Human: Fall Flat is your answer. You and your co-op partner play as wobbly little human blobs with jello arms, trying your best to climb, drag, and throw your way through physics-based puzzles. Spoiler: nothing ever goes as planned.
The controls are intentionally floppy, which means even the simplest tasks like opening a door or climbing a ledge, turn into full-blown comedy routines. Expect to spend a lot of time yelling “grab my hand!” right before falling off a cliff together. It’s the best kind of scream fest!
It’s silly, it’s chaotic, and it’s perfect for partners or friends who want to problem-solve and fail spectacularly in the process. The laughter will literally never end.
There’s also a bunch of maps to painfully traverse through, including custom maps made by others and plenty of DLC to get your wobbly little nubs on!
This game is available on PC/Steam, Playstation and Nintendo Switch.
These games are FUN and all, but how about some titles that may make you and your player two (or group of friends) maybe scream… or rage? Check out this post for a bit more of a challenge for your next co-op experience!
